چکیده
Abstract Background Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) is a complex multi-factorial characterized by chronic inflammation of the gastrointestinal tract. Despite significant efforts to understand pathogenetic mechanisms IBD, elucidation its etiopathology and progression far from fully understood. The direct analysis intestinal tissue endoscopy which leads IBD diagnosis (before starting any treatment) would be ideal sample elucidate pathogenesis. Methods High-throughput mass-spectrometry-based quantitative proteomic was performed using formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded human samples newly diagnosed patients potential responsible for gut in Crohn′s (CD) ulcerative colitis (UC). For this purpose, 192 40 active UC patients, 67 CD 46 normal biopsies healthy controls (HC) were analyzed (Figure 1). Proteins with p-value < 0.05 considered as significantly dysregulated. Moreover, we used Ingenuity Pathway Analysis (IPA) analyze pathways functions different locations (ileum or left colon) that could related Results A total 2,903 proteins identified, 1,010 differentially expressed between colon HC. 1,242 HC, 952 differential discriminated patients. In comparative study ileum Crohn's controls, 956 2). IPA revealed multiple canonical pathways, including EIF2 signaling, regulation eIF4 serine/threonine kinase P7056K mitochondrial dysfunction, oxidative phosphorylation altered compared HC 3). Regarding samples, main enrichment comparison following: neutrophil extracellular trap signaling fatty acid oxidation, sirtuin pathway, tRNA charging, dysfunction 4). Conclusion results dysregulated may unravel key contributing pathogenesis these diseases. serve point hypotheses search therapeutic targets.

Focally enhanced gastritis in newly diagnosed pediatric inflammatory bowel disease.
Although the significance of focally enhanced gastritis (FEG) as a marker of Crohn disease (CD) in adults has been contested, several studies suggest that it may be more specific of CD in pediatric patients. This study describes the detailed histologic features of FEG in pediatric inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and clarifies its association with CD. A series of 119 consecutive newly diagnosed...
متن کاملFolate concentrations in pediatric patients with newly diagnosed inflammatory bowel disease.
BACKGROUND Folate is postulated to protect against cell injury and long-term risk of cancer. Folate deficiency has been shown to be associated with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). However, folate concentrations are poorly delineated in children with IBD. OBJECTIVE The objective was to compare folate concentrations between children with newly diagnosed IBD and healthy controls. DESIGN Red ...
متن کاملSubstrate utilization by intestinal mucosal tissue strips from patients with inflammatory bowel disease.
A primary metabolic disorder may be present in the colonic mucosa of patients with ulcerative colitis. Preserving the epithelium in situ, we evaluated the metabolism of the colonic mucosa of control patients and patients with ulcerative colitis and Crohn's disease. Colonic mucosal strips (approximately 500 mg) were incubated with partially 14C-labeled acetate (C2), butyrate (C4), hexanoate (C6)...
متن کاملAuto-antibodies in Patients with Inflammatory Bowel Disease Unclassified
Background: Inflammatory bowel disease unclassified (IBDU) is considered to be an aberrant immune response with loss of tolerance to many antigens. Objective: This paper tries to address whether there is any value to test for auto-antibodies in such patients. Methods: 60 patients with inflammatory bowel disease unclassified participated in the study. Auto-antibodies to nuclear antigen, intestin...
متن کاملPrevalence of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder in Pediatrics Patients Newly Diagnosed with Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease
Background: Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) is associated with a number of comorbidities in pediatrics. However, its association with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) has not been reported. The aim of the present study was to investigate the prevalence of ADHD in pediatric patients newly diagnosed with GERD. Materials and Methods: Sixty newly-diagnosed treatment naive GERD...
